Dennis Bayless began his construction career hands-on, in the field, building commercial and high-end residential projects for a mid-sized general contractor/design build company in Nashville, Tennessee. Starting as construction superintendent and working his way up to assistant to the President of the company, he learned how projects are built, effectively managed, and he learned the ins and outs of the construction business. This work-boots-on-the-ground approach has proved to be an invaluable education that went far beyond what he had learned in the classroom.

Dennis later joined Jacobs Brothers Company, the construction division of development company Jacobs, Visconsi & Jacobs, based in Cleveland, Ohio, as a Project Superintendent building major regional shopping malls and retail stores around the country. Connecticut General Life Insurance Company (CIGNA) based in Connecticut hired Dennis as Senior Project Engineer, to oversee the construction of various commercial and industrial projects representing the owner and/or lender. There he learned the construction process from yet another viewpoint. Dennis later spent five years building public schools and other municipal buildings for Gilbane Building Company, an Engineering News Record rated top ten construction firm in the nation.

In 1986, Dennis Bayless brought the varied skills of construction management, project management, general contracting, project inspection, and design-build together to form Bayless Associates, a construction consulting firm serving owners and lenders. Over the years he has performed construction management oversight for public schools, municipal buildings, commercial buildings, and multi family housing projects. Bayless Associates lender services have included property inspection, property condition assessment, pre-construction document reviews, and ongoing construction monitoring for all types of properties, all over the country.

With a name change in 1998 to Bayless Construction Consultants, and a network of consultants to call upon, Dennis continues to provide the real estate and construction industries with the benefit of his wide ranging experience, knowledge, and dedication to exceptional client satisfaction.

Dennis Bayless has been awarded the Certified Construction Consultant, Certified Construction Inspector, and Certified Project Manager designations by the Association of Construction Inspectors (ACI).
